Basic Human Rights

When our Creator Almighty created people and ordained we multiply and live in communities and thrive and grow, our Creator wanted everyone of us to have certain rights. The different prophets and messengers that we know of all had as their main mission the basic message of upholding the rights of our Creator as well as of others as we live our own lives.

Living in societies as we all do, each of us has to respect that other people have the same basic rights as we do, namely;

  • safety from violations and aggression

  • dignified dwelling

  • good health care

  • access to education

  • good nutrition through healthy food and drink

  • equal chances at advancement and self-improvement.

These are, in our understanding of Islam, basic rights for every human being. For those who are not satisfied with a basic level of any or all of these, Islam extols self-reliance, entrepreneurship and hard work to achieve more in life than the basic standard.

Through The Good Tree Sustainable Development Initiative, we hope to provide the homeless, the battered, the dis-empowered, the disenfranchised, and the victimized a second chance to have a happy purpose-driven life. We will not be able to help everyone, but we will help those we can - especially women and children.

A person’s life needs to be about more than just financial return and material well-being.
