What is the theory of change for The Good Tree Sustainable Development Initiative?
Empower those in need materially, and also mentally, emotionally and psychologically. Enable them to innovate solutions to their own problems and the global problems related to pollution and climate change.
Action Plan:
• Conduct a comprehensive feasibility study (complete with SWOT, Cost/Benefit, and Risks analyses) that subsequently gives the green light to launch.
• Setup a Waqf fund as an endowment in the form of an Islamic Ethics guided ESG and Shariah compliant mutual fund account that supports the initiative’s activities.
• Assemble an in-country team of appropriately skilled individuals to run an in-country Waqf/charitable entity that oversees and assists in establishing the initiative in their country.
• Conduct 2 remote and 2 in-person trainings in the first 12 months in each of the selected countries. The trainings will be for capacity building and technology transfer to enable the in-country teams to carry out their tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Recruit beneficiaries for the agribusiness cooperatives and select the all-women leadership team.
• Setup the in-country export process and the export management team to maximize success of marketing the products of each cooperative particularly in North America, Europe and the GCC countries.
