Strategies:
• Mount an international campaign (via the internet and any other means including word of mouth and social connections) to encourage financially capable charitable individuals from around the world (Muslim and non-Muslim) to contribute a portion of their charity, or Zakat and Sadaqa to this effort by donating to the Waqf/Endowment.
• Begin building a virtual network of charitable individuals - from around the world - who have the appropriate skills, education, experience and potential to assist in the technology transfer and capacity building of our initiative’s beneficiaries via short & focused trainings - provided at no cost - and either remotely or in-person (i.e. in-country). The beneficiaries are the members/residents/owners of the cooperatives.
• Establish long-term (50+ years) leases of Waqf lands from government or private Waqf agencies in each country and setup the agribusiness cooperatives based on climate-smart, value-added agriculture.
• Conduct an intensive 6 month beneficiary selection campaign from the target beneficiary groups and empower with concentrated knowledge transfer workshops in the key areas required for successful management of the agribusiness.
• Assemble an international network of supporters that will provide support via 1) imparting knowledge for free, 2) be ready markets for products of the cooperatives, and 3) offer business partnership to entrepreneurship ideas that cooperative members develop in each cooperative’s entrepreneurship incubator. For Muslims, this will be an excellent way to practice the Muslim→Mu’min→Muhsin transition coveted by all people of faith.
• Setup two proof-of-concept cooperatives in each country in the first 18 months based on shipping container construction while also incorporating local building materials and methods without reducing disassembly and relocation advantages. Each cooperative will be empowered with revenue early on by the completion and operation of 1) a basic two-unit Airbnb, 2) a commercial kitchen; both built using shipping container techniques.
• Each cooperative will offer the following benefits free-of-charge to the selected cooperative members:
◦ dignified housing
◦ on-site clinic for adequate primary health care (physical and mental)
◦ free electricity, water, and food
◦ satellite internet-based learning center (school for children and continuing education for adults/parents)
◦ a basic salary for all cooperative members
◦ an effort-based share of cooperative profits from the sale of products and services offered
◦ an entrepreneurship incubator for innovative entrepreneurial ideas addressing problems affecting people and planet.
